Travel Alert: California is a very large state!! The Northern, Central and Southern California coastal regions are the size of several average states. The main problem for California visitors is attempting to see too much in too little time. One and two week vacations are best restricted to one of our four coastal regions if you want to relax and enjoy the local attractions. Driving time will be your biggest variable. The best chance to get somewhere on the California city freeway system is to avoid weekday work traffic from 7 - 9am and 3 - 7pm.
Please enjoy the saved California Tsunami event from Cayucos on March 11, 2011. The first image was taken at 8:10am PST at the normal tide level prior to the tsunami. The following beach cam photos show the water receding approximately 50 - 100 yards then flowing back to a very high tide line and back to the normal tide level while local surfers live for the danger. The tidal changes took place over a couple hours between 8 & 10am PST. Cayucos beach cam photos are taken from the Shoreline Inn - a wonderful pet friendly motel on the beach in Cayucos, California.
