Find United States travel and vacation information for California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon and Washington. Whether you want to drive the 1400 miles along I-5 or take an even longer route along scernic highway 101, you're sure to enjoy a road trip along the United States Pacific coast.

The western coast of the United States is served by a multitude of international airports and air carriers as defined for each state. Visit the Airports & Airlines section for global airport and airline information.

Be sure to take time to see some of the many attractions along the way. Some of these include:

Disneyland

If you're in the Anaheim general vicinity, you should take time to see the original amusement park that started it all. Do check schedules because there are certain times of the year when the park is closed.

Grauman's Chinese Theatre

The Hollywood area of Los Angeles has become rundown to some extent, but the theatre is still a big attraction for tourists. Also often referred to as Mann's Chinese Theatre, it is the place where people have always checked their shoe sizes against those of the movie stars of yesterday.

Space Needle

Built for the 1962 World's Fair, the Space Needle has forever been tied to the Northwestern United States and Seattle in particular. Although it looks rather spindly, the 605-foot structure is built to withstand 200 mph winds and earthquakes of 9.1 on the Richter scale. At its completion, it was the tallest building on the west side of the Mississippi River.

Oregon Coast

Along the Pacific is over 360 miles of coastline, which ranges in terrain from rocky areas with cliffs to sandy beaches to evergreen forests. Intermingled along the coast are small towns, seafood restaurants, state parks, and lighthouses.

Washington

By the time you reach Seattle, the mountain will be a constant companion. There's nothing quite like waking each morning to see that mountain. From the heart of Seattle, you are only about 110 miles from the Canadian border.

There are many reasons to travel the Pacific coast; all you have to do is come and explore to find them.

Travel Tips

How to find the best travel deals !

  • Hotel and air packages to popular destinations may offer the best opportunity for saving money on your vacation to popular destinations.
  • Always compare web site data base prices with a travel agency price - no one has a monopoly on the best prices! Plan your vacation as far in advance as possible and compare midweek and weekend departure prices.
  • Price morning departures and then late departures to get a feel for off-peak pricing. Price a vacation with a weekend stay-over.
  • If your schedule is flexible, try to travel during non-peak times or look for last minute deals. When you book, you can also purchase travel protection for sickness cancellation, serious vacation problems and lowest advertised price guarantees.

Long Term Airport Parkin Deals for Week or more: Airport hotels will oftentimes offer one, two or even 3 weeks free parking with a single night stay on departure. Call the airport hotel reception desk direct and ask for the best park & fly deal for your circumstances. You must deal direct with the airport hotel - NOT the 800 toll free reservation center. I was recently quoted $235 for 16 days in non-covered airport parking lot. I called direct to airport hotels offering parking deals and ended up with nice room for rest before flight, free airport shuttle and 16 days free parking for $139!!!
